S L V Vegetarian

We are located in Vijaya Nagar 3 and we only serve vegetarian food here. The place has been around for a bit and we have a lot of regulars who come in every single morning for their coffee and idli. It is a bit of a routine for them and for us too. We open up early, usually before the sun is fully up, to start the sambar. The steam from the idli cookers fills up the front area pretty quickly. We have those standing tables because it is faster for people who are heading to the bus stop or work. It isn't the quietest place because of the steel plates clattering and people talking loudly over each other. We try to keep things moving fast so nobody is waiting too long. Sometimes the coffee machine acts up and we have to fix it on the fly while people are waiting. That is just part of the job I guess. We don't spend money on decorations or fancy lighting. We just have the tube lights and the tiled walls that are easy to wash down at night. My brother handles the billing and I stay near the kitchen hatch. We get a lot of families on Sunday mornings which is our busiest time. It is just a plain, honest vegetarian spot for the neighborhood. No frills involved.
