You won't find a big corporate office for Rwdi here because we are actually set up in room number 2S-102 at the Newhostels in IISc. Being on the Bangalore campus means we are surrounded by students and researchers all the time, which is a bit different from a regular business park. It is a small space, basically a hostel room turned into a work area, so things can get a bit tight when we have all our papers and laptops out. Bangalore weather helps, though, as we can always step outside for a bit of air when the room feels too small. We deal with technical work and being at the Indian Institute of Science keeps us in the right mindset, even if we are just working out of a hostel. There are a lot of stairs to climb and the hallways are usually quiet until the students finish their classes. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy waiting lounge. If you come by, you’re likely to find us hunched over a screen or talking through some data. It’s a practical setup for the stage we are at. Sometimes we miss having a big kitchen or a real conference room, but for now, this room in the Newhostels is home base. It’s just how we operate, keeping things lean and focusing on the actual work instead of how the office looks to outsiders. It works for us and the work gets done fine.
