Ruchi Kitchen

Ruchi Kitchen is located at 94 on the RT Nagar Main Road in Ulsoor. It’s a small place where we cook everyday meals. We have a few tables and some plastic chairs for people who want to eat here, but a lot of our customers just take the food home. The kitchen is right there, so you can see us working and hear the pots clanking. We don't have any fancy decor on the walls, just a calendar and maybe a clock that is sometimes a few minutes fast. We focus on making the kind of food we eat at home. It’s mostly rice dishes and some vegetable curries that change depending on what we found at the market that morning. RT Nagar Main Road is noisy with traffic, but inside it’s a bit calmer. We have a small staff of three people, and we all do a bit of everything, from chopping vegetables to cleaning up at the end of the night. We don't have a printed menu because things change often, so we just tell people what we have ready. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it works for us. We’ve been in Ulsoor for some time and know most of the shopkeepers on this block. We keep the food hot and the prices are okay for the neighborhood. It is just a normal kitchen for local people.
