Roopa Shri Condiments

Roopa Shri Condiments is tucked away at number 24 in Shiv Shakthi Nagar. If you know Sanjay Nagar, you know how the traffic can get around this part of town. We’ve been in this spot for a while now. The shelves are packed with jars of pickles and different types of spice powders. We spend a lot of time weighing things out into small plastic packets for the customers. It’s usually quiet in the late morning, but once the schools let out, the noise starts up. People come in looking for something to have with their evening tea. We have the usual snacks, both spicy and salty ones. The smell of hing and chili powder is always in the air here. It gets into your clothes after a few hours of working. We don’t have any fancy displays or anything like that. Just the basics on the wooden racks we built. Sometimes the light in the back flickers, and we keep meaning to fix it. Customers ask about what’s fresh today, and we tell them honestly. It’s a neighborhood place through and through. Most people who come in live just a few streets away. We know who likes the extra spicy mixture and who wants the plain puffed rice. Sanjay Nagar has its own rhythm, and we are just a small part of it. When it rains, the water splashes up near the entrance, so we have to keep mopping the floor. It’s just daily life here.
