Receptionist

My work address is No 12 in Muniga Layout, which is part of M S Nagar in Bangalore 33. As a receptionist, I spend a lot of time sitting and waiting, then suddenly everything happens at once. The layout is usually quiet, which I appreciate. It is tucked away from the main road noise. I have a small desk with a plastic chair that isn't the most comfortable, but I put a cushion on it. I handle all the paperwork that comes through the door. Most of it is just bills or letters for the staff. M S Nagar is a decent place to work. I have been here long enough to know where the best coffee is sold just around the corner. I keep a diary of who comes in and out of the building. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit and talk until the generator kicks in. It is not a high-pressure environment. I mostly just make sure that things don't get too messy. The walls could use a new coat of paint, but they have been this color for years and nobody seems to mind. I like the predictable nature of the day. I arrive at nine, have my tea, and start the filing. It is a steady way to earn a living without too much stress. People who come here are usually in a good mood, which makes my job a lot easier. I just try to be useful and keep the desk organized.
