My law office is located at Lig 548 II Stage in the KHB Colony, which is over in the Vino Ba Nagar part of Shimoga. I’ve been practicing here for quite some time, and the neighbors all know where to find me if they have a question. The office itself is quite simple, mostly filled with rows of old legal books and stacks of paper that seem to grow every week. I have a heavy wooden desk that’s been with me since I started out. The windows look out onto the street, so I see people walking to the market throughout the day. Shimoga can get quite hot, so I usually keep the overhead fans running at full speed. It isn't a big fancy law firm with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just me and a couple of people helping me keep the records straight. We sit down with clients and talk things through over a cup of tea. Sometimes the court dates get moved around and everything becomes a bit of a mess, but that’s just the nature of the job. I like being in this part of town because it’s quiet enough to focus on the cases. I don’t use any of those big marketing agencies to get the word out. People just hear about me from their friends or family. It’s a small place but it serves its purpose well for the work I do.
