Receptionist

I am located at 436, 1st Cross in Lingarajapuram. Working as a receptionist in this part of Bangalore 84 is always interesting. The neighborhood is a mix of all sorts of people. My desk is tucked away in a corner where I can see everyone coming in from the street. The 1st Cross is usually crowded with scooters parked everywhere. I spend my morning dusting off the counter and checking if there are any messages from the night before. The phone rings a lot, mostly people asking for things we don't even do, but I try to point them in the right direction. It is a bit cramped in the office sometimes, especially when we have more than two visitors at once. I have a small fan that sits on my desk because it gets a bit stuffy in the afternoons. I don't have a fancy computer system, just a basic one that works when it feels like it. My handwriting isn't the best, but I can read my own notes, which is what matters. Lingarajapuram has a lot of energy and I like being in the middle of it. Sometimes the neighbors come in just to say hello or ask for the time. It is a very local way of working. I don't think I would like a big corporate office where nobody knows your name. Here, I feel like I am part of the street. It is just a regular job for a regular person.
