RDC Concrete

Started out in Teachers Colony, just off the main stretch in Nagarbhavi, and RDC Concrete has been there since. Most days here start early, usually before the sun is even fully up because that’s when the trucks need to get moving. There is always a layer of grey dust on the windows and the desks, no matter how much we try to wipe it down. The yard is messy but we know where everything is kept. You can hear the mixers running from down the block. We spend a lot of time on the phone with drivers who are stuck in that Nagarbhavi traffic. It’s not a quiet place. People come by asking about prices or looking for a load for a small house patch-up. We mostly just keep our heads down and get the batches mixed. The floor in the office is stained with coffee and wet boot prints. Some days it rains and the whole place gets muddy, but the work doesn’t really stop. We’ve got a couple of old chairs in the corner where the guys sit for lunch. It’s hot in the afternoons, so the ceiling fans are always clicking away at top speed. It’s just us here at 36/27-8, making sure the concrete goes out when it’s supposed to. Nothing fancy about the building or how we run things. We’ve been at this address for a while now and the neighbors know the sound of our gates opening.
