Ravi Catering

Ravi Catering is based out of a kitchen at 52/2 St Thomas Town. We are not a big restaurant with tables and waiters; we are mostly back in the kitchen preparing food for events and gatherings. Our day starts very early, usually before the sun even thinks about coming up, so we can get the fires going and start the prep work. The kitchen gets hot and humid pretty fast, especially when the big pots of rice and curry are bubbling away. St Thomas Town is a nice, quiet area, and the neighbors are used to the smell of spices wafting out from our windows every morning. We handle everything from small family dinners to larger community lunches. It’s a lot of chopping, stirring, and tasting to make sure things are right. We don't have a fancy menu printed on glossy paper; we just talk to people about what they want to eat. It’s just me and a couple of helpers who have been with me for years. We do our own shopping at the local markets to find the best vegetables and meat. When the orders are ready, we pack them up in big stainless steel containers and get them delivered to the various venues. It’s tiring work being on your feet all day, but it’s what we do. We just focus on making food that tastes like it was made at home. There is always a lot of cleaning to do at the end.
