Rajasthani Parotha Point

Over at vishveshwaraiah Puram Chembur Colony 18, we run Rajasthani Parotha Point. It’s a small operation, mostly just focused on the tawa and the dough. My hands are usually covered in flour by ten in the morning. We don't have a big menu because we prefer to do just a few things. The heat from the stove can get pretty intense, especially during the summer months when the air doesn't move much in the colony. We’ve got a few stools outside for people to sit on, but most people just stand around and eat while they talk. The neighbors sometimes complain about the smell of onions frying, but then they usually come over and buy something anyway. It’s not a fancy restaurant with waiters in uniforms. We just hand the plates over the counter ourselves. The building is old and the pipes sometimes groan, but the kitchen area is kept as tidy as we can manage. We get our supplies from the market every couple of days. Carrying the heavy sacks of flour is the hardest part of the job. Sometimes we forget to change the calendar on the wall, so it stays on last month for a while. It’s a bit disorganized at times, especially when five people arrive at once, but we manage to get the food out. It’s just a regular place for regular people looking for a quick bite near Chembur Colony.
