About Rajasthani Food Court – Food & Beverages in Bengaluru
We set up this food court in Electronic City at the 4th Cross in 1st Block. The number is 611 if you are looking for the exact spot. We wanted to bring the kind of food we grew up with in Rajasthan to this part of the city. It’s mostly just us in the kitchen making rotis and sabzi every morning. The heat from the tandoor is quite a lot, especially in the middle of the day. We have some wooden benches for people to sit on, but it’s a small area so it fills up fast. A lot of young people who work in the tech companies nearby come here for their lunch break. They seem to like the simple taste of the dal. We don't use any pre-made stuff; we grind the spices ourselves in the back. My brother handles the money at the front, and I stay with the pots and pans. Sometimes we run out of things by 2 PM because we don't cook in huge batches. We’d rather make it fresh every day than have leftovers. The street outside is always busy with traffic and people walking by. We just focus on what’s on the stove. It’s a lot of manual work, scrubbing the big pots and keeping the floor dry. We don't have any big signs or bright lights, just the name on the board above the door. It is a simple life but it keeps us very busy.
