Our salon is a humble little place where we focus on getting the job done. We’ve got the usual setup with mirrors, chairs, and all our combs and scissors laid out. It’s a neighborhood spot, so we don’t put on any acts. People come in, have a chat about the news or the latest movie playing nearby, and get their hair sorted. The lighting inside is just regular tube lights, and we keep the doors open to let the breeze in when it’s not too dusty outside. Vannarpet has a lot of energy and we are right in the thick of it. We see a lot of regulars who live in the layout and some people who just happen to be passing by. It’s not a fancy place with expensive products on display, just the things we actually use every day. We work long hours, especially when there’s a big movie release, but we enjoy the work. It’s just a simple, honest hair shop for the local people here in Bangalore. We usually close up when the theater crowd thins out at night. We’ve been here for a while and don't plan on moving.
