The Nilgiris store is right nearby, which is how most people find us if they haven't been here before. We've been in this building for a few years now. It’s an older structure, so it has some character, like the high ceilings and the way the floor creaks in the corner. We offer hair services and have a small area for spa treatments. Halasuru is a crowded part of Bangalore, and our street is no exception. There is always someone walking by or a bike zooming past. We have a few chairs and some mirrors that we’ve had since we opened. We don't have a big marketing budget or any fancy brochures. People usually just hear about us from their friends or neighbors. We use the standard hair products that you can get at the wholesale market. The water pressure can be a bit low in the afternoons, so we have a tank to help out. It’s not a glamorous life, but we like the work. We see the same faces every month, and we’ve gotten to know people’s families. It’s a simple, local business. We just open the doors in the morning, sweep the front, and wait for the first customer to walk in. That’s how it goes for us most days.
