Punjabi Food Corner

Over at Indira Nagar 25, things stay pretty busy from the moment we pull up the shutters. Punjabi Food Corner isn’t a huge place, but it fits what we need. We spend a lot of time in the back getting the masalas right and making sure the tandoor is at the right temperature. You can usually smell the garlic and butter from down the street before you even see the sign. It’s mostly just us working here, trying to get the orders out to people who are usually in a bit of a hurry. We see a lot of the same faces every day, people who work in the shops around here or live just a few blocks away. They don’t come for anything fancy, just a warm plate of food that tastes like home. We don’t spend much time worrying about the paint on the walls or having the latest furniture. It’s more about making sure the dal is thick and the rotis are soft. Some days are harder than others, especially when the weather is hot and the stove is blasting, but we manage. We just keep our heads down and focus on the cooking. There isn't any big story behind it. We just wanted a spot to cook the kind of food we like to eat ourselves. It’s a simple setup and we like it that way. Sometimes the delivery bikes block the entrance for a while, and we just have to deal with it.
