Punjabi Cuisine

It's been quite a while since we set up Punjabi Cuisine here on Marathahalli Outer Ring Road. Basava Nagar 500 is where you can find us if you are driving past that stretch. Most days it gets pretty busy with the traffic outside but we just keep doing our thing. We mainly focus on making the kind of food we grew up eating back home. There isn't anything fancy about the seating or the decor inside the shop. It is just a regular spot where people stop by when they are hungry and tired from a long day of work. My brother and I manage most of the daily chores ourselves. Sometimes we run out of specific ingredients by the evening because it’s hard to predict how big the crowd will be. We try to keep the kitchen clean and the stove running constantly. It is a lot of physical work, honestly. The heat in the kitchen really gets to you during the summer months but that is just part of the job, I guess. People seem to like the dal and the fresh rotis we make here. We don't really do any fancy advertising or things of that nature. Mostly it is just people who live nearby or work in the office buildings around the ring road who come in. We’ve seen the whole area change a lot over the years with more high-rises coming up. It used to be much quieter. Now it’s just constant noise. We just stay focused on the cooking.
