Our office sits at Q 24 on the 1st Main road, right at the 2nd Cross in Maruthy Extension. Being so close to Devaiah Park is nice because we can see a bit of green when we walk out for lunch. In Bangalore, the traffic is always something people talk about, and it is no different here on our street. Pricewaterhousecoopers Pvt Ltd is based in this building, which is a fairly standard structure for this neighborhood. We have a small sign near the entrance so people do not miss the turn. The space inside is a little tight when everyone is in at the same time, but we make it work. We have grown fond of the creaky floorboards and the way the sun hits the back desks in the late afternoon. There is a small pantry where we make tea, though the kettle takes forever to boil lately. We do not spend money on fancy decorations or expensive furniture. Everything we have is just meant to be used until it wears out. Most of the staff live nearby, so there is a very local feel to the way we handle our day. We know the shopkeepers on the corner and the people who walk their dogs past our windows. It is a very grounded environment for doing business. We just show up, do what needs to be done for the day, and head home when the sun goes down.
