Prasad Stores

Down on R M Road in Bangalore City, you can find Prasad Stores. We are at number one, right where the street gets a bit busy. It is a local shop that has seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. We sell the usual household items that people need in a hurry. You know, things like tea leaves, salt, and washing powder. The shop is a bit cramped because we try to stock as much as possible. Sometimes you have to squeeze past a crate to get to the back. We know most of the folks who live around here. They stop by on their way home from work. My brother and I take turns behind the counter. It isn't a very fancy place, just some old shelves and a stone floor. We don't have a big sign out front, just the name. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use candles for a bit, but we stay open. It is a quiet kind of business. We don't do any big sales or promotions. We just sell things at the normal price. It is good to see the regular faces every day. We usually know what someone wants before they even ask for it. That is just how it is when you stay in one spot for a long time. People here are like neighbors to us, not just customers.
