Pragati Time

Pragati Time is our little shop over at 3/C Maruthi Plaza. We’re right opposite the Vijayalaxmi Talkies in the Mandpeshwar area of Chickpet. Being near a cinema means there is always energy around us. We’ve spent a lot of time in this plaza. It’s a narrow space, filled with watches and spare parts. Chickpet is known for being a maze, but once you find the talkies, we are right there. We fix all kinds of watches, from the ones people wear every day to the older ones they keep in drawers. It’s a lot of fine work with small tools. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who know the trade. The shop gets a bit warm in the afternoons, but we have a fan that keeps things moving. We’ve seen many movies come and go at the theatre across the way. It’s a landmark for us. Our customers are usually locals or people who come to Chickpet for their shopping. We don’t do anything too fancy. We just sit at the counter and help whoever walks through the door. It’s a practical business. We keep our hours steady and try to be reliable for the people who depend on us to keep their clocks running. That’s about all there is to say about us at 3/C Maruthi Plaza. We just keep our heads down and get on with it. It is what it is.
