Popular Styling Salon

This shop is called Popular Styling Salon and we are over at 7, Vyalikaval main road. We are specifically on the 4th cross in the Maruthi extension area. It is a very easy spot to find because we are quite near Vinayaka circle. Being on the main road means there is always something happening outside the door. We see the buses and the autos going by all day long. The shop itself is just a regular place where local people come to get their hair fixed up. We have been here in Vyalikaval for a good while and we know the rhythms of the street. Early mornings are usually for the older gentlemen who like to get things done before the heat starts. Later on, we get the younger crowd. We don't have any corporate office feel here. It’s just us and the customers. Sometimes the power goes out and we just wait it out or use the natural light from the front door. We keep the floor swept and the towels washed. It is a small business and we put our time into making sure everyone who leaves looks better than when they walked in. The 4th cross is a good spot for us. People know they can just drop in without making a big fuss about it. We just focus on the hair and the conversation. That’s how a local shop should be, really. We try to keep things simple and honest for everyone who visits us.
