Our operation is based out of Shed No. 49 and 50 at Survey No. 47/1 in Thagachuguppe, Kumbalagod. It is an industrial area, so it is all about production and getting things shipped out. The sheds are large and mostly made of corrugated metal, so they get quite loud when the rain hits the roof. We spend most of our hours on the floor, overseeing the machines and the packing process. It is a dusty environment, but we keep it as clean as possible for the food handling. Kumbalagod is a bit out of the main city, which gives us the space we need to run a bigger operation. We have a good team of workers who come in from the surrounding villages. Most of the day is spent checking the batches and making sure the packaging is sealed right. We do not have a fancy front office; usually, we just meet people right there by the loading dock. There is a lot of coordination involved with the trucks coming in to pick up the finished goods. Sometimes we run into issues with the power or the equipment, and then everyone has to pitch in to fix it. It is honest work, and we do not try to make it sound like more than it is. We are just a food processing unit trying to get our work done and meet our daily targets before the sun goes down.
