Pavan Traders

We are over at 789/21 in Giri Nagar. It’s not the easiest place to find if you aren’t looking for it, but the locals know where we are. The shop is tucked away, and we’ve got shelves piled high with all sorts of things. Sometimes I can’t even remember where we put certain stock, so we have to spend an hour digging through boxes. It’s mostly just me and a couple of helpers. We open up around nine, usually after having a quick breakfast at the stall around the corner. The morning is spent checking what came in the day before and updating our little ledger book. We still prefer writing things down by hand, even if there’s a computer sitting in the corner gathering dust. Giri Nagar is a nice area, fairly quiet compared to the main market roads. We get a lot of regular customers who come in not just to buy things but to chat about their kids or the weather. We don’t have any fancy displays or bright lights. It’s just a practical space for trading. Sometimes we run out of change and have to run to the neighboring shop to swap some notes. That’s just how it goes here. We try to keep things honest and straightforward. When the shutters go down at night, we’re usually tired but it’s a good kind of tired because we were busy all day.
