You can find us at number 26 on Palace Road, right where it meets Victoria Main Road. It’s a very busy corner of the neighborhood. Our shop is filled from floor to ceiling with jars of spices and different types of condiments. It’s a bit of a tight fit inside, and sometimes customers have to wait outside if there are more than three people. The smell of the place is very strong. You can pick up the scent of turmeric and vinegar as soon as you get close to the door. We’ve been running this shop for a long time. It’s a family business, so you’ll usually see me or my brother behind the counter. We don't have a modern inventory system. We just look at the shelves to see what we need to order more of. The wooden shelves are old and have been stained by the different powders we sell. We don't do any big promotions or have a fancy logo. Most of our customers are people who have been coming to us for years. They know exactly what they want. The traffic on Victoria Main Road can be quite loud and distracting, but we’ve gotten used to it. We just keep serving the people who come in and making sure the jars are full. It’s a straightforward way to live and we don't have plans to change anything.
