Optimus Bt

Being based in Indiranagar, Bangalore is interesting because the whole neighborhood has changed so much since we first arrived. Optimus Bt is tucked away here among all the new cafes and clothing shops that seem to pop up every week. It’s a good spot to be in, even if finding a place to park your scooter is a total nightmare most afternoons. We started this place because we wanted to work on things our own way without someone breathing down our necks. The office is pretty small, just a few desks and a lot of coffee cups and old papers lying around. We spend our mornings going through emails and trying to stay on top of everything that needs doing. Bangalore weather is usually nice, so we keep the windows open when it’s not too noisy from the traffic outside. Most of the staff live nearby in the surrounding blocks, so we talk about local stuff and where to get the best dosa a lot. It’s not one of those high-pressure places you see in the big tech parks on the edge of town. We prefer a slower, more deliberate approach to our daily tasks. Sometimes we get stuck on a difficult problem for hours, but that’s just part of the job. We don’t have a fancy reception area or a person in a suit waiting at the door. You just walk in and someone will probably look up from their computer screen to say hi. It is a practical way to run things.
