Nisarga Fast Food Hotel

Nisarga Fast Food Hotel is right by the Amba jee Mandir in Basavanagudi. Being so close to the temple means we see a lot of people coming and going all day long. We start very early, usually when it’s still dark out, to get everything ready for the breakfast rush. The steam from the idli cookers fills the room and makes the windows foggy. It’s a small place, and the benches are a bit old now, but they do the job. We don’t have a lot of variety, just the usual stuff that people expect from a fast food hotel in this area. The bells from the temple are a constant sound in the background while we work. We spend a lot of time washing dishes and clearing tables as fast as we can. It’s not a place where you come for a quiet meal; it’s loud and everyone is in a hurry. Sometimes we get the orders mixed up when it's really crowded, but we just fix it and move on. The owner is usually sitting near the cash box, keeping an eye on things. Basavanagudi is a nice area with lots of trees, though we don't get much time to look at them. We’re mostly just focused on the stove and the next person in line. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know how to do. We keep the plates moving all day and night.
