New Shimla Gents Parlour

You can find us at the Abson Complex in Kalasipalyam, right near where the Hindustan Travels buses pull in. It’s a busy part of Bangalore, so there’s always something going on outside our door. We’ve been running this gents parlour for quite a while now. It’s just a straightforward place for men to get a haircut or a shave without any of the extra drama you find in some modern shops. We’ve got the old-style chairs and the mirrors that have seen plenty of faces over the years. Most of our customers are locals or people passing through the bus station who need to look a bit more presentable. It can get a bit crowded in here on Sunday mornings, and you might have to wait on the bench for a bit. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just open the shutters in the morning and wait for people to show up. The fans hum away to keep the heat off while we work. It’s a simple business. We talk about the weather or whatever is in the news while we do the trimming. It’s not a fancy spa, just a regular shop where you can get a decent cut for a fair price. We like the rhythm of the neighborhood and the familiar faces that come back every month.
