Nature Conservation Foundation

Our office is at number 78, a place called The White House in Vijaynagar 1st Stage. It sounds more grand than it actually is. It’s just a nice building where we have a few rooms. We are the Nature Conservation Foundation. A lot of our work happens outside, away from the desk, but this is where we come back to write things down and plan. Vijaynagar is a pleasant area with some trees and wider roads. We have bookshelves filled with reports and maps. There’s usually a pile of field gear in the corner waiting to be cleaned or packed. We aren't a corporate entity. We are just a group of people who care about the environment. Our meetings are informal, often held over tea. We don't wear uniforms or suits. Most days you’ll find us in cotton clothes and sandals. The office stays relatively cool even in summer. We’ve been here for some time, and the neighbors know us as the people who talk about birds and trees. It’s not a high-stress environment, but we stay busy. There’s always another project or a report to finish. We like the pace of life here in this part of town. It suits the kind of work we do every day without being too noisy or distracting for the team. We have a small garden patch out back where we sometimes sit and talk about our observations from the field. It’s not much, but it’s ours.
