My place is at 48 Basavanagudi, inside the Shirur Ashok Plaza. Basavanagudi is one of those old-school parts of town that still has a bit of character left. Ashok Plaza is where I spend most of my daylight hours. It is a typical commercial building with different shops and offices. I do not go for the whole corporate image. It is just a room with some chairs and the tools I need for my work. People stop by when they are in the area for shopping or other errands. I have lived around here for a long time, so I have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. But some things stay the same, like the way people prefer to talk face-to-face instead of on the phone. I do not have a fancy website or a marketing person. I just keep the doors open and do what needs to be done. Sometimes the plaza gets a bit crowded on the weekends, but during the week it is a decent place to work. My setup is honest and straightforward. I do not believe in overcomplicating things. If someone needs help with something I can do, I do it. If I cannot, I will tell them who can. It is a small operation, and I like it that way. You get to know your neighbors and the people who work in the other shops. It is a good way to live and work in a place like Basavanagudi.
