Mohammed Ali General Stores has been a fixture on Anand Park Road 5 for a long time. We’re located in Ganesh Nagar, within the St Thomas Town area. It’s a small shop, and we’ve got stuff piled up from the floor to the ceiling almost. If you walk in, you’ll probably see Mohammed or one of the family members behind the counter. We don't have those fancy scanners or bright fluorescent lights. It’s a bit dimmer in here, and we use old ledgers mostly. People from around Ganesh Nagar come in for their daily bits and pieces. We know who needs what before they even ask sometimes. Anand Park Road 5 is a narrow street, so it gets crowded when a delivery truck shows up. We have to move quickly to get everything inside so we don't block the road. The store smells like a mix of spices, soap, and old paper. It’s a familiar smell to us. We don't do any advertising.
