Modern Soap Factory

Modern Soap Factory sits right at No. 2/2 on Hosur Road. We are directly across from the Hopcoms in Wilson Garden, which is a good landmark for people trying to find us. The factory always has this distinct smell of soap and oil hanging in the air. It’s a scent that sticks to your clothes even after you leave. We’ve got these big vats and mixing machines that make a lot of noise. The floors are often a bit slippery, so you have to watch your step. We don't have a big corporate lobby or anything like that. Instead, you walk right into the work area where things are happening. The building is older, with high ceilings and some cracks in the plaster here and there. Wilson Garden is a busy neighborhood, and the traffic on Hosur Road can be a nightmare in the evenings. We see a lot of people going to the fruit and vegetable stall across the street while we are loading up the carts. It’s a routine we’ve had for years. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to wait for the generator to kick in so the soap doesn't set too early. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down. Most of the staff live nearby, so it feels like a local group just doing their job.
