Mla Model School

We are located right in the Cmc Complex near Shivaji Chowk here in Devikara. If you know the chowk, you know how loud it gets with all the shops, the honking, and the traffic. Mla Model School is on one of the floors in that building. It’s not like those big schools with sprawling green fields, but we make the space work for us. We use every bit of the rooms for classrooms and have a small office for the principal tucked away at the end. The stairs are quite narrow, so the kids have to be careful when they’re coming up or going down. I usually stand by the main entrance in the mornings to make sure no one is running or pushing. The market outside is always full of people selling vegetables, snacks, and clothes. Sometimes the noise from the street comes right through the windows, but the kids seem to tune it out. They just focus on their books and their writing. We have a small corner in the back where we keep some sports equipment, though we have to walk over to the public ground nearby if we want to play a proper game of cricket. It’s a very urban setup. Most of the families nearby work in the shops or small businesses around Shivaji Chowk. It’s easy for them to drop their kids off. We spend our days teaching, grading papers, and trying to keep the fans working during the afternoon heat.
