Millen

Maninagar Cross Road in Koramangala is quite a busy stretch these days. Our spot is at number 428 in the 8th Block. We just call it Millen. It’s a small space where we keep things simple. Usually, the first thing we do in the morning is move the neighbor's scooter so we can open the shutters. The building is older than it looks and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint. Inside, we have shelves filled with whatever we are currently stocking. It’s a bit of a mix. There is no air conditioning, so we keep the fans going at full speed during the summer months. People from the nearby offices often walk past and peek in. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who know where everything is kept. If you ask for something, we might have to dig through a few boxes in the back, but we usually find it. Koramangala has changed a lot, with all the new cafes, but we just stay the same. The rain often pools near the front step, so we have to be careful not to slip. We don't spend money on marketing or anything like that. Word of mouth is how most people hear about Millen. It’s just a regular business. We open at ten and stay until the work is done. It’s a decent way to spend the day. We usually close up around eight and head home.
