Metro Hair Dressers

Metro Hair Dressers is located at No. 80 on Old Bamboo Bazaar Road in Shivaji Nagar. We are situated quite close to the Lal Masjid, which is a major landmark in this part of town. Shivaji Nagar is one of the older parts of Bangalore, and the streets are narrow and usually packed with people and carts. Our shop is small and fits right into the busy atmosphere of the bazaar. We have a few old-fashioned barber chairs that have been bolted to the floor for years. The walls are covered with mirrors so the space feels a bit bigger than it actually is. We deal with a lot of regular customers who have been coming to us for decades. On Fridays, it gets especially busy because of the prayers at the mosque nearby. We hear the call to prayer throughout the day, which gives the shop a nice, familiar feel. There is always the sound of people bargaining in the market outside and the honking of scooters. Inside, we just focus on the hair. We use standard scissors and old-style razors that we sharpen on a leather strap. It is a traditional way of doing things, and we haven't seen a reason to change it. The floor is often covered in hair until we get a chance to sweep it out into the street. It is a busy, noisy, and very real place to work every day.
