Masala Craft

Masala Craft is tucked away at Indira Nagar 82. We opened up because we wanted to cook the kind of food we grew up eating at home. The kitchen is the heart of the place, and it’s usually a bit of a mess with onion skins and spice jars everywhere. We don't have a big fancy dining room. It’s just a few tables and some basic lighting that we bought at a local market. Most of the time, the air is thick with the smell of roasting spices, which can make you sneeze if you’re not used to it. We don't have a big team of chefs, just a few of us who know the recipes by heart. We don't really use measuring cups; we just go by how it looks and smells. Some days we run out of certain ingredients because the market didn't have what we needed, so the menu changes a little. The walls have a few scuffs from moving tables around, and the floor is a bit uneven in spots. It’s a busy neighborhood, so there’s always noise coming in from the street. We get a lot of office people during lunch and then families in the evening. It’s just a local spot where you can get a decent meal without any fuss. We’re usually here from morning until late at night, making sure everything is ready for the next day.
