Marys Classique Salon

Marys Classique Salon has a bit of an unusual spot because we are located inside the Airlines Drive In Restaurant on Madras Bank Road. If you know Lavelle Road, you know how busy it gets around here. Being part of the Airlines Drive In means there are always people around eating or hanging out in their cars. We are also right opposite the Bowring Institute, which is another big landmark in this part of Bangalore. It’s a nice area to work in because of all the trees and the old buildings. The salon itself is cozy. We have our regulars who have been coming to see us for decades. They might grab a coffee at the restaurant and then come in to see us. The sound of the restaurant—clinking plates and people talking—is the soundtrack to our day. Madras Bank Road is a prestigious address, but we keep things very down-to-earth inside. We have the old cupboards and the same mirrors we’ve had for ages. It feels like a little escape from the traffic on Lavelle Road. I spend a lot of time organizing the bottles and making sure the towels are clean. It’s a steady pace of life here. We don't feel the need to be fancy or follow every new trend. We just do what we know how to do in a place that feels like home.
