If you walk through the Gunj Bazar in Kamakshi Palya, you’ll find us in the Rajanna Building. Maruthi Condiments has been a part of this market for a good while. We mostly sell things like coffee powder, tea, spices, and those little snacks people like to eat with their evening tea. The shop is usually crowded, especially in the mornings and right after work hours. It smells like roasted seeds and fresh ground coffee most of the time. We don’t have a big marketing strategy or fancy packaging. Most of our stuff is sold in simple bags to people who live right here in the neighborhood. We know most of our customers by name, and we know exactly how they like their coffee blend. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and weighing out portions on the scale. The Gunj Bazar is always loud with people shouting and trucks moving, but we like the energy of it. We aren't trying to be a big supermarket chain. We just want to provide the basic things that make a kitchen run well. Sometimes we run out of a particular spice, and we have to tell people to come back tomorrow. It’s an honest way to make a living, serving the people who walk past our door every day in Kamakshi Palya.
