Mangalore Corner

Mangalore Corner is tucked away in Vijaya Nagar at Sathe Wasti. We are right on Dhanori Road at number 44. It’s a bit of a dusty area with all the traffic going by. Our shop isn't very large, but we’ve crammed a lot into it. We mostly sell things that remind us of back home. You can smell the spices as soon as you step inside. The shelves are a bit narrow, so you have to be careful not to bump into things. We get a lot of people stopping by on their way home from work at the end of the day. The sidewalk outside is usually busy with people walking to the bus stop. We’ve been at this location for a few years now. The back room is where we keep all the bulk bags. It stays a bit cooler back there. I usually sit near the front door so I can see who’s coming in. Sometimes we have tea with the guy from the shop next door when things are slow. We don't have a computer or anything fancy for the billing. We just use a paper notebook and a pen. It gets the job done. The floor is red tile and it’s worn down in the spots where people stand the most. We just keep things simple and try to stay out of the heat. It gets a bit noisy with the cars, but we like being right where the action is.
