Mane Biryani

Mane Biryani is on K K Nagar Road in Rajajinagar. We’ve got a pretty straightforward setup here. We mostly focus on biryani, which we cook in big pots that take up a lot of room in the back. The smell of the spices usually hits you before you even walk through the door. We don’t have a massive menu because we’d rather just do a few things right. It’s a family-run place, so you’ll usually see one of us behind the cash box and someone else helping in the kitchen. We have some plastic chairs for people to sit on, but a lot of our customers prefer to take their packets home. On weekends, it gets a bit chaotic. We sometimes have to tell people we’re sold out earlier than expected. That’s the hardest part, seeing someone disappointed. We try to estimate better each week, but it’s not always easy. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't found the time yet. We’re more focused on the food and making sure the rice is cooked just right. Rajajinagar is a great place to be, and we feel like we’re part of the furniture on this road now. We don't have any fancy waiters or tablecloths. It’s just us, the food, and the people who come to eat it. We’re just happy to be here. Some days are long, but we just keep going and keep the pots moving until we close up for the night.
