Mahadevamma Catering Group

Down in Sunkadakatte 18, you’ll find Mahadevamma Catering Group. It’s mostly just us in the kitchen most of the day. We started this because we liked cooking for people and it just grew from there. It's not a big corporate kitchen with stainless steel everywhere, it’s more like a bigger version of a home kitchen. We do food for weddings, small parties, or just local events. It gets hot and loud when we’re in the middle of a big order, but that’s just how it is. We don't have a fancy menu with weird names; it’s just good, honest food that people recognize. We source most of our vegetables from the local markets around Sunkadakatte. We’ve had the same people working here for years, so we all know what needs to be done without talking much. Sometimes the deliveries are a bit late because of the traffic, but we always try to get the food there while it's still warm. We don't do much advertising. People just taste the food at an event and then call us for their own. It’s a simple way to run a business. We focus on the cooking and let everything else take care of itself. If you walk by No. 18, you can usually smell whatever we’re prepping for the day. It’s hard work, but we’re used to it by now. We just want the plates to come back empty at the end of the night.
