We’ve been operating out of Avenue Road at number 252 for a long time. It’s a family thing, M Samiulla Shariff And Brothers. If you know Avenue Road, you know how packed it gets. There are people everywhere and it’s always a bit of a squeeze to get through the street. Our shop is right in the middle of all that chaos. We have stacks of items and boxes all over the place. It might look a bit disorganized to someone else, but we know exactly where everything is. We don’t have a fancy showroom. It’s more of a practical space where we handle our business every day. Most of our time is spent talking to customers and dealing with suppliers who are trying to get their trucks through the narrow road. It’s a lot of work and the days are long, but we’ve been doing it this way for years. We don’t use any marketing tricks. People come to us because they know we’re here and we’ve been here. We just try to be fair and get the job done. Sometimes it’s hot and the fans don’t do much, but we keep going. It’s just how life is on Avenue Road. We’re just a local family business keeping things moving for the next generation. We don't really have time for anything too fancy or modern in this old building.
