M D General Store

M D General Store is right in Kadugodi, very close to Bapuji Circle. If you know that area, you know it’s always crowded with people and autos. We’ve been here for years, serving the local folks who live nearby. Our shop isn't anything fancy, just a regular place where you can pick up your daily needs like rice, soap, and snacks. We start early in the morning, usually before the sun is even fully up, to get everything ready. It’s a lot of work stocking the shelves and making sure we haven't run out of the basics. The shop gets pretty cramped when more than a few people are inside at once, but we manage. Being near Bapuji Circle means we see all sorts of people walking by every day. We’ve grown to know most of our regular customers by their first names. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just open the shutters and wait for people to come in. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late and we have to move boxes around in the heat, which is never much fun. It’s a simple life running a store like this. We just try to keep the shelves full and the floor swept. It’s a noisy spot because of the traffic, but we are used to it by now. It feels like home to us.
