Our place, Loyola Academy, is tucked away in Xavier Layout, which is just off Victoria Road in Bangalore. We are situated right behind the Life Style building, so there is always a lot of activity and people around. That part of the city feels quite old, with narrow lanes and big trees that provide a bit of shade. The building we are in has been around for many years. You can hear the constant noise of the traffic from Victoria Road, with buses and cars honking all day long. Inside, we have some rooms for classes and a small office area. The floors are made of that old-style stone which helps keep the place cool during the hotter months. We don’t have a massive sign or a fancy entrance, just a metal gate that we usually leave open. There is a small tea stall just a few steps away where we go when we need a break from the desk. Most people find us by walking from the main road. The stairs are quite narrow, so it can be a bit of a squeeze when people are moving between floors. We have some old posters on the walls and wooden benches that have been used for a long time. It’s a very busy neighborhood, but once you step into the layout, it gets slightly quieter. We just focus on our daily tasks and keep things moving along. It has a very typical, old Bangalore vibe.
