JC Nagar is a busy area, and our spot in Rajappa Block is right in the middle of it all. If you know Church Road, you probably know where we are. It’s a pretty standard place, nothing too flashy. We’ve got our mirrors, the chairs that have seen better days but are still comfortable, and the usual tools. The neighborhood is mostly families and people who have lived here forever. You hear the traffic outside all day long. Sometimes it’s hard to hear the person talking in the next chair when a big truck goes by. We don’t really have a big team, just a couple of us working through the day. We start early and stay open until the last customer is done. It gets quite crowded on weekends. People wait on the bench, read the paper, or just look at their phones. We don’t have a website or anything. Most people just find us because they live down the street or their friend told them about us. Being in Bangalore 560006 means we get all kinds of weather, from the hot sun to those sudden rains that flood the gutters. When it rains, people often duck inside to stay dry for a minute. It’s a lived-in space. It feels like home to us because we spend more time here than anywhere else. It’s just a regular local shop doing regular things.
