The office is at 26/1 Sudham Nagar, which is right near the HDFC Bank. It’s a small place, mostly used for storing our equipment and meeting up before we head out to a job. We do a lot of moving for people in the city, taking their belongings from one apartment to another. It’s the kind of work where you’re always on your feet. We don’t have a fancy corporate structure. I usually start the day early, checking the truck’s oil and making sure we have enough blankets to cover the furniture. Sudham Nagar is a central enough spot that we can get to most parts of town fairly quickly. We don’t use any scripts when we talk to people; we just tell them how we work and what needs to be done. It’s a basic operation that relies on doing a decent job every day and hoping that’s enough to keep the phone ringing.
