We’ve been working out of this spot at House No 50 on the first floor of 9 Cross for quite some time now. It’s a busy area and we’re usually surrounded by tape rolls and cardboard boxes. Moving stuff is hard work, mostly because people have so many things they’ve collected over the years. We spend a lot of our mornings just organizing the trucks and making sure we have enough bubble wrap for the day. Sometimes the stairs here are a bit of a pain when we’re carrying heavy crates down from the first floor, but you get used to it after a while. Most of the guys here have been doing this for years, so we know which boxes tend to break if you aren't careful. It’s not a fancy office or anything, just a place where we keep the supplies and talk to people about their shifting dates. We’ve seen all sorts of houses around here. Some people are moving just a few blocks away, while others are headed across the city. We try to just get the job done without too much fuss. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially when we’re loading up the big lorries, but that’s just how the job goes. We keep a diary on the desk to track the schedules, and there’s always someone around if you drop by the 9 Cross location to ask about how we pack things or what dates are free.
