Our office is on the fifth floor of the Chandralok Complex on S.D. Road. It’s an older building, so it has that specific smell of old concrete and dust. Being in the third phase of the complex means we are a bit further back from the main street noise, but you can still hear the honking from down below. We do a lot of engineering work here, so the desks are covered in blueprints and technical manuals that nobody else would understand. It’s a small crew of us. We have a few computers that are always running hot because of the software we use. The lift in this building is quite small and slow, so we often find ourselves waiting in the lobby chatting with the other tenants. We aren't the type of company that wears suits and ties every day. We usually just wear whatever is comfortable for a long day of calculations and drawings. The lighting is those old fluorescent tubes that flicker sometimes. We have a small corner where we keep the water cooler and some old magazines. It’s a functional space. We’ve been here long enough that the security guards know us by name. It’s just where we come to work and solve problems without making a big fuss about it. We appreciate the routine and the familiar faces in the building that make the long hours go by faster.
