If you ever find yourself on Bannerghatta Road, you know how the traffic can be. Our agency is tucked away on the 6th Cross in Deverchikanahalli, right opposite the Chowdeshwari Temple. It’s a busy little corner. You can hear the bells from the temple throughout the day, which is a nice break from the sound of the trucks and bikes outside. Lakshmi Venkateshwara Cement Agency is basically a functional yard and a small storefront. We have stacks of cement bags piled high, and there’s always a bit of dust floating around. The office is just a small room with a fan that makes a clicking sound, but it keeps us cool enough. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to contractors who pull up in their tempos. It gets pretty cramped when a big delivery comes in because the 6th Cross isn’t exactly a wide highway. We have to coordinate things carefully so we don't block the temple entrance or annoy the neighbors. It’s a bit of a juggle, but we’ve managed it for years. Most of our customers are from the surrounding blocks, and they just walk over when they need a few bags for a home repair. We don’t have a website or fancy brochures. We just write down orders in our big ledger and make sure the deliveries happen when we say they will. It’s just how we do things.
