Koshys Parade Cafe

If you walk down St Marks Road, you’ll find us at number 39. Koshys has been here for a really long time, and the building shows its age, but we like it that way. The fans on the ceiling just sort of push the warm air around, and the wooden tables have scratches from years of people sitting there talking. It’s not the kind of place where you come for a quick, polished experience. Things take a little time here. The staff has been around for decades in some cases. We’ve seen the road outside change from a quiet street to this busy place full of cars and new buildings. Sometimes the old regulars come in and sit in the same chair they’ve used for twenty years. It’s a bit noisy with the traffic right outside the window, but you get used to it. We don’t do anything special for marketing. We just open the doors and people show up. The menu is just printed on some paper and it has stayed the same for as long as I can remember. We have these big windows that look out onto the street, which is good for people watching. It’s a bit dusty sometimes and the floors are old, but it feels like home to us. We just keep serving coffee and food and watching the city go by. It’s just a cafe, nothing more, nothing less. It doesn't need to be fancy to work.
