Khan Traders

We are tucked away on 2nd Main Road in New Taragupet. If you know Bangalore, you know this area is always moving. There are trucks everywhere and people hauling goods on carts. We’ve been operating from this spot for a long time. Our building is number 22, and it’s pretty much what you’d expect from a trading house in this part of town. We handle a lot of wholesale stuff. The phone rings a lot and people are always coming in and out with invoices and lists. It’s not the quietest place to work. There’s always the sound of tape dispensers and boxes being dragged across the floor. We don’t have any fancy signs or neon lights. People who need us usually know where to find us. We deal with various goods depending on the season and what’s available. Most of the guys working here have been with us for years. We eat lunch together in the back when there’s a lull in the afternoon. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to wait it out. That’s just part of being in this old neighborhood. We try to keep things organized but when three deliveries happen at once, the place gets a bit chaotic. We just work through it. By the end of the day, we’re pretty tired but we come back the next morning to do it all over again. It is hard work but we are used to the rhythm of the market now.
