Katarias Home Food

We are based at number 390 on 29th A Main, in BTM 1st Stage. Our place isn't a big restaurant with a huge sign. It’s more of a small kitchen where we make food that feels like it came from your own home. A lot of the people living in BTM are young folks who have moved here for work or studies. They get tired of eating heavy restaurant food, so they come to us. We keep the menu very short. Most days it’s just rotis, a couple of vegetable dishes, dal, and plain rice. We don't use a lot of oil or heavy spices because we want the food to be easy to eat every day. The dining area is just a couple of tables in a small room. Most of our customers prefer to bring their own containers and take the food back to their rooms. We cook everything ourselves, and sometimes if we are tired, we might close a bit early. We don't have a delivery fleet, so you have to walk over to 29th A Main to get your meal. It’s a quiet street and we like the peace there. We don't do any promotions or advertisements. Word just spreads from one person to another. It’s just a small effort to give people a taste of home-cooked food when they are far away from their families.
