Karnataka Labels

Karnataka Labels is tucked away in the Madivala Gidc Industrial Estate, specifically at units 25 and 26. You can usually find us because we’re right near that ICICI Bank ATM which everyone uses. It’s a busy little corner of the estate. We spend most of our time dealing with rolls of paper and various printing machines. It gets quite loud when everything is running at once, so we usually have to shout to hear each other. The floors usually have scraps of sticky backing or paper trimmings on them by the end of the afternoon. We clean up, of course, but it’s a constant process. Being in an industrial estate means we’re surrounded by other businesses doing similar heavy work. It’s a community of sorts. We’ve been at this location for a while, and we know the delivery drivers and the tea stall guy pretty well. We don't have a fancy showroom. Most of the space is taken up by the stock and the machinery. It’s a functional setup. Sometimes the weather makes the paper a bit damp, which is a pain, so we have to be careful with storage. We just focus on the orders we have for the week and try to stay on top of things. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We’re just regular people trying to make a living in Madivala, keeping the machines humming along day after day without much fuss.
